POKOTABI / Cafe Cocoro
Cafe Cocoro
A look at Cafe Cocoro in Yayoi-cho, Nakano Ward, featuring drinks chilled with specialty frozen cubes to prevent dilution, plus morning and lunch sets served with salad and juice.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Take a sip from an iced drink here and you will notice that the ice is made directly from the beverage itself, keeping the flavor intact as it melts. The iced coffee uses frozen coffee cubes, the orange juice uses frozen juice cubes, and the iced café au lait combines both coffee and milk ice cubes—a thoughtful touch that preserves the rich flavor down to the last drop.
For an initial visit to Cafe Cocoro, the morning set menus offer an appealing start. Options include mixed sandwiches generously filled with egg, ham, and tuna, a 3-flavor toast dressed with cheese, butter, and jam, and dinner rolls served with butter and jam. Each morning set comes well-rounded with a vegetable salad, a small glass of juice, and your choice of drink from an extensive menu.
During lunch hours, sets featuring Western-style cafe staples like hamburg sandwiches, pizza toast, and beef curry are served. Lunch also includes a salad, small juice, and a choice of beverage, alongside kissaten favorites such as Neapolitan, carbonara, cakes, and coffee jelly for dessert.
Run by a solo proprietor, the shop offers a calm atmosphere filled with quiet background music and the steady rhythm of siphon brewing. The cafe is open daily except Fridays from 9:00 to 19:00, and payments are cash only.
